After years of coming in second, especially after losing to Pi Kappa Alpha by a very controversial four points last year, the Vermont Alpha Chapter became the 2007-2008 UVM Greek Community's Fraternity of the Year.
"We worked hard all year and it's great that after so many years of near misses we were able to finally take it home," said President Andrew "PJ" Kasprisin at last nights Greek Awards Ball.
The same night the Vermont Alpha Chapter took home awards in Chapter Management, Leadership Development, Collaborative Programming and Recruitment. Brother Kofi Mensah also took home the award for Outstanding First Year and Brother Thomas Whitcher (California XI, Chico State '06) our graduate adviser won the Change Agent Award.
"We are going to celebrate tonight but starting tomorrow we are going to get back to work. Tonight showed us that there are a lot of places that we need to still improve upon, but after talking to the brothers they are ready and psyched to do it. The great thing is that some of them want to start tonight," said President Kasprisin.
